Heather was born and raised in the Syracuse area and started dancing at a very young age. Her family says she learned how to dance before she could walk. She started dancing Ballet at Veronica's Dance Studio when she was just six years old and began gymnastics by the age of 10. Heather soon found herself competing in floor, beam, uneven bars and vault in gyms such as Which Way Is Up, Gym Connection, and GC2.  Once she entered high school Heather found her passion in Ballet and Modern Dance and even began performing in Musical Theater. This blend of singing, dancing and choreographing led her into college as a music major with a focus on performing arts. After college Heather started teaching Ballroom Dancing with the Arthur Murray Franchise in multiple locations across upstate New York.  She continued as a dance instructor for 11 years before she decided to open Dance Syracuse in her hometown. Heather LOVES dancing, competing, teaching, and cherishes her students. She has a wide range of experience teaching beginners their first dance steps and works hard continually pushing her most experienced students, some of whom have been training with her for over 14 years.  Heather considers herself fortunate for the opportunities she has had to travel to dance competitions all around the world and is touched whenever she can share those experiences and dance steps with her students.  Heather's passion is dancing and would love more than anything to share that passion with you.
